Haute Lumière · The reading
For the highly sensitive person.
You are not too much. You are a system with a wider aperture than the room was designed for, and nobody ever taught you what to do with the extra signal.
Psychology calls it sensory processing sensitivity, and around fifteen to twenty people in every hundred have it. Long before that name existed, Kazimierz Dąbrowski called the same thing overexcitability — five of them, actually: sensual, psychomotor, intellectual, imaginational and emotional — and he made a claim nobody has improved on since. He said the intensity is not a disorder to be managed down. It is the raw material of development, and the people who have the most of it are the people who go furthest, if they survive the part where it takes them apart.
The falling apart is not the failure. It is the mechanism.
That is the position this house works from, and there are volumes underneath it — one finished and read aloud end to end, the rest open and free while the shelf is in beta.

And the next thing
High sensitivity and rejection sensitivity are the same nervous system described from two directions. If the intensity mostly shows up as reading rejection where none was sent, the other door is the one to open next.
