## The book
**Coral, and Order 5.5 — The Future of Luminous Development** by **Ammanuel Desta Santa Anna**, forthcoming from Luminous Press, an imprint of Luminous Prosperity. Part of **the Luminous Developmental Canon** (NOT the Ecstatic Economics series — that is a different line).

Author name is always **Ammanuel Desta Santa Anna** / **Santa Anna, A. D.** in citations. Never "Santa Ana", never without the middle name on a byline.

## Rule: the Five D inquiry closes every chapter
Every chapter ends with a **five-part appreciative inquiry**. It is the four Ds of Appreciative Inquiry plus a fifth:

1. **Discovery** — what is already alive here? What has worked, and when was it at its best?
2. **Dream** — what wants to emerge? What would it look like fully realised?
3. **Design** — what structure would hold that? What has to be built or changed?
4. **Destiny** — what is the first move, and who makes it?
5. **Delight** — where is the joy in this? **Anything you cannot delight in does not stick.** Delight is not decoration on the end of the process; it is the retention mechanism. If a reader cannot find delight in a practice, they will not keep it, and the other four Ds will have been wasted.

The fifth D is the Luminous addition and should be treated as load-bearing, not as a flourish. Never drop it, never soften it into "celebration" or "gratitude" — it is *delight*, and it is the reason the work survives contact with an ordinary week.

Set this as a five-part section at the close of each chapter, in chapter order, with real questions the reader can answer — not prompts about the framework.

## Registers
Seven registers, one per hour of the light: Aurora · Daylight · Solstice · Dusk · Vespers · Midnight · Nocturne. **Daylight is the default.** Keep the register pill bar on book/issue templates. The photo grade and palette track the register. **No clock.**

Dark pages use `--panel` / `--panel-ink`, never `--ink` / `--paper` — the latter invert in Vespers/Midnight/Nocturne and flip dark pages light.

## Images
Plates must be **portrait sources** (1440×2560) for portrait A4 frames. Landscape sources in portrait frames lose ~60% of width to `object-fit:cover` and sever arms at the frame edge. Always view an image before committing it, and check both arms and hands are fully rendered — the generated dancer photographs frequently have malformed or missing limbs.

**Never put `filter:var(--photo-grade)` inline on an `<img>`.** `tokens/colors.css` already grades every image globally via `html[data-register] img{filter:var(--image-filter)}`. Adding it inline applies the grade TWICE — doubled grayscale/sepia/contrast — which visibly degrades 2K source photography. The global rule is the only place the grade belongs.
